My Year end thoughts
I have watched with much anxiety and interest this year unwind and thought that the year was going to be so sad with so much violence, the war on cops and personal struggles that my family faced. It started with a botched surgery for my daughter and my falling and a year long battle to get back to walking, the loss of sight totally in one eye. But as the election got closer and closer , I saw a man who I would never have picked to be the presidential candidate tear through the republican party and re-write the whole story. Then there was a woman who , I feared became a runaway favorite to be President not because she was talented but she represented an evil movement that had been against most of what I stood for. The present President as the year progressed became more and more openly at war with Christians, Jews, Cops and rural America. I was very depressed until I heard Franklin Graham ask for all Christians to pray and get behind Trump. I wondered why Trump? But in my heart I knew that The Graham family had never supported a candidate before so this must be very important. Election night came and the analysts kept saying how impossible it was for Trump to win . And slowly the states started to fall for Trump and the key states started to do things they hadn't done in 30 years . I then realized the prayers of the faithful had been heard , we do not know how good he will be but God stepped into an election and his might was felt. 80% of Evangelical Christian voters voted for Trump. One source said that an additional 8 million Christians came out to vote. I think we have seen Jesus answering that call for prayer and putting some one in the White House that will listen to Christian leaders and keep God in America.
